Hello,
Anyone know of any devices used to measure capacitance in kVAR and where to find information about them? I've been searching for a while now and haven't had much luck.
Thanks,
Morgan

Hello mml
You will have difficulty finding such a device because the KVAR of any given capacitor is dependent on the applied voltage and frequency.
If you wish to make a measurement, the best indication, is the current drawn at the required voltage and frequency.
Connect up your desired voltage, measure the current and multiply the voltage and currentfrequency to get the VARs. Divide by 1000 to get KVARs. If the capacitor is a three phase capacitor, multiply the phase to phase voltage by the average current and multiply by root three.
Best regards,

A little correction in Marke`s reply. Multiply voltage and frequency to get VARs. Frequency sould read current.

You are so right. Brain got ahead of the fingers!!
I have corrected it now.
