How do I calculate minimum size of conductor required for 24 vdc, 1 to 2 amp draw, over a span of 1000 ft

The size of the conductor will determine it's resistance per unit length. You need to determine how much voltage drop is acceptable over that distance,then calculate the resistance and use that to select the conductor size. You also need to ensure that the conductor is suitable for that current flow.
