If you over correct an installation by adding too much power factor correction, you will increase the current flow in the supply. This will increase the i2r losses in the supply, but will have very little impact on the KWHr meter unless there are very long cables between the power factor correction and the metering.
Over correction is just like under correction except that the current leads rather than lags.
