Hello Sludger

Welcome to the forum.

There have been many devices "invented" to save energy on induction motors by reducing the voltage applied to them.
There are many threads on this forum covering this concept, but the bottom line is that you can only save a portion of the energy that is being wasted.
Modern induction motors can operate with efficiencies higher thn 90% and under these conditions, savings are very small.

Provide more detail, and we may be able to coment further, but you may find the paper at http://www.LMPhotonics.com/energy.htm of interest.

Best regards,
Mark.
