Greetings Mark,

I wasn't able to buy any clip-on power factor meter but did buy a digital clamp amp-meter. Based on your electrical calculations for static correction, all I need to do is supply the amp reading of the motor in order to calculate the kvar. Is it applicable for both single and 3 phase motors?

Thank you in advance.

Greetings Mike,

Thanks for your responses.

Meanwhile, I would like to ask concerning the power factor correction for single phase motors, is the correction different from 3 phase motors?

Regards,

Itos

Greetings

Pardon my ignorance, not being an engineer, my question is what instrument can one use to know the power factor of an electrical motor?

Regards,

Greetings,

Am interested to know if a factory already has a capacitor bank would adding static capacitors to the large motors be of any help?
what would be the consequences if any?
would there any savings?
