Hi, i live in Chile!
We have a big problem with energy generation, couse we are 70% dependent on rain and hydraulic generation! My question is! The authorities have a plan that decreased in a 10% the voltage! So i think, if you decrease the voltage, you will save some energy couse P = V x I! But, i think, in industrial and domestic proces, the key is not voltage, is power, so if i have to dry a t-shirt, it will take some kw to do it, so if i reduce the Volts and i want to have the same result, i have to increase the amps, and i finaly will be consuming tne same Power, or not? Can any one put some light over my conclusions? Thank in advance! Chris!

I have to put together a star delta starter, for a 150 HP motor, it will start without load!
What will be the KW contactors you will pick? I am not sure if i use new ones ore used ones! If i use new, will they be for 132KW enought? If i use some siemens used ones, but in very good condition, shoul they be biger in KW? Thanks for your answers!!! Chris!

Hi, i want to make a test bank to "test" generators. If i want to get 500kva from a 380 Volt gen, am i correct if i say:
I = 500.000/(1.73*380), then I=760Amps, each phase. So, to use a star bank, R=220/760? R=0,29 ohms? Can any one help me? Thanks. Chris.

Hi, i have a General Electric resistor made in iron and it is completly rusty. So i disarmed it and clean every contact zone in it. This resistor is componed by 16 iron parts in series. The problem is that befor cleaning i measure 24 kohm and in the nameplate says 3 x 2.88 ohm, 150hp, 205 amps. And now i am measuring 0.7 ohms. What did i do wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help. Chris.

Hello, i have 2 used air brakers, but i dont have the control circuit schematic for them, can any one give me a hand here?
One is a Hund & Weber, HN1600/3. The other is a Westinghouse SPBNH frame 600vac 3000 amps. For any help, thanks in advance. Chris. |
