Hello all,
I would like an opinion on whether a DG set can be avoided in our 1 MW incinerator power plant. The overhead load comes to 200KW. We have 2 generator of 560KW capacity running on producer gas. startup takes about 1/2 hour. Utility power is available & power plant is only operational for 8 hrs/day. Is it possible to float the generators on utilility power during start up & gradually be loaded as the plant comes to full gas production. Any comment would be greatly appreciated. |
