Hi !!

Can a 1500 rpm 50 hz 380 volts 1500 kva alternator be used for 60 hz generation by increasing the engine speed to 1800 rpm.

Are the alternators designed for a particular frequency?

Dear chaterpilar,

No, but there are mechanical and thermal verifications to be done. 1500 kVA is not a small machine!
Please check also if his electronic voltage regulator could run at 60 Hz

Regards
Mario
