Dear all,
I'm looking to find a manufacturer of 2-poles 3-phase alternators, in the range 1 MW to 7.5 MW, low voltage or medium voltage, frequency 50 and 60 Hz, therefore speed should be 3000 or 3600 rpm.

I know manufacturers that can realize such machines, but I would find - if possible - a manufacturer that has already manufactured such machines, with experience and references.

Such machines shall be purchased regularly, some pieces every year for each frame.
These generators will be used for renewable energy cogenerators, where 4-poles construction cannot be used.

Can someone help me?
Thank you in advance
Mario

I'm sorry, kens, I've signed a Non Disclosure Agreement, for some months I cannot disclose this application.

Hi Mario,

It's been awhile but just wondering if you had luck in finding a manufacturer yet?

Try TECO Westinghouse or GE as they are reown for their large Synch machines and I do believe they would have the references and experience in such sizes. I had dealed with the guys in Westinhouse and they are excellent.
I do not believe WEG has alot up their belt for global references in Syn machines...

The problem with large 2pole machines is that critical speed might be an issue and not many motor manufacturers will want or like to build them. And if there is varying of speed, this would be very very expensive if you got an offer for it.

So you are right, you will want a manufacturer with lots of reference to show that they have a proven design.

Cheers,
SCIM

Dear all,
after one year I've not found any synchron machine in such sizes. There are bigger and smaller 2-poles machines, but not in desired range.
After a long search, I've found only one potential manufacturer, but he have to design a completely new machine. I cannot mention it to potential competitors of my customer.

Best regards
Mario
