Sir,

I am interested in Maintaining power factor in welding Machines. The Load is varying during electrod is shortcircuited for welding. Any suggestion ?

The billing of pf surcharge is being done for which KWH & KVAH Meter's consumption are recorded and ratio of both is considerd as average monthly pf. My querry is, if I improve pf from 0.6 lag to 1.0( by suitably connecting capacitor across Motors.) , what will be the effect on KWH & KVAH consumtion for the same period of time with same load condition and power supply condition.
