Hello BServEngr
I would think that you would want the powerfactor correction connected when you are running on the generator supply in order to reduce the current loading on the generator. This will reduce the losses in the generator, but will not significantly reduce the fuel consumption. I would strongly recommend however, that you disconnect the correction during the transition from main supply to generator supply, and from generator supply to main supply. The switching transients could result in a resonant system and very severe voltages during the transition. Best regards, -------------------- Mark Empson administrator
