I have a few querries:

1. Is the earth fault current setting in an MPR same as the actual flowing current in the CBCT primary, that is the current that flows in armour of the cable.

2.What is the locked rotor setting for star delta starting of motors to be provided. The default setting in the MPR is 7times

I came across a live deom of a softstarter with energy saving feature for avarying load application. The voltage across the motor was varying in relation to the load on the motor. Eg for a 40HP motor, at NL current of 13A, the voltage measured ws 200V and at 50A, it was 380V. The voltage kept on varying. It did show up energy saing on the energy meter. My question is what is this technology and how reliable is this?

Hi all,

For my new project I am considering using of microcontroller based ct operated relays in place of motor protection circuit breakers. I will be employing an MCB in the motor incomer for short circuit protection. I would like to avoid using a bi-metallic relay. The CT operated microcontroller provides me with several protection like phase reverse, dry run protection, highly reliable single phasing protection and seems better option. My project uses motors from 3HP to almost 400HP.

Any experience on such a replacement?
