Dear Sir
We have a Siemens make 1FK6 series AC permenant magnet synchronous motor with buit in absolute encoder and brake. The drive used is simocom having all the interfaces for encoder and brake. The application is in steel industry shop floor and due to contaminated environment and high ambient temperatures the encoders are failing frequently. My query is, as the application does not require accuracy, is it possible to run the motor on ABB ACS8000 Direct torque control drive or any other VFD WITHOUT THE ENCODER? If yes then how to go about it? Regards psl |
