Hi there,

Can anybody explain what are the ways to supply power to motor space heaters at 3.3 or 6.6 kV level ?
Also, how they should be selected ?

If this is something new that I am missing please let me know however, you must have a motor control center which already has something in the 120 to 240 volt range or even higher, which could be used to power the heaters. Also you want to run the motor heaters when the motor is not running, so your 3.3 or 6.6 kv will be turned off.

In this case you would have a 6.6 kv to for example 240 2 phase or similar low voltage PT in your motor control center which you will use to power the heaters when the VFD, soft starter or cross line contactor is turned off/open.

Hope this is helpful

Dave
