Some questions about power factor correction...

Do I have to place some [start count per hour] limit for motor starters with static correction?

On the picture http://www.lmphotonics.com/pwrfact4.jpg capacitor is connected upstream of overload relay. Is it possible to connect capacitor downstream of overload relay (between overload relay and motor) ?

Can I use static correction for star-delta starters? Or motor get overcompensated in star connection?

Hi

The addition of power factor correction does not alter the maximum number of starts per hour of the motor.

If you connect the power factor correction downstream of the overload relay, the current through the relay will be lower and the protection will not protect the motor.

Yes, you can use static correction for star-delta starters. This is commonly done.
