how to find the thermal time constant from a thermal curve

how to set the max starting time .whether we should take up the cold value or the hot value

Hello ram

It really depends on what you want to do with this figure.
Different manufacturers have different definitions, but you would not be too far out if you took the time off the thermal curve at 600% current. I would use the cold curve.
