We have a shunt wound DC motor. Motor values are: 400/1200 rpm 500 V 1300 A Field: 240 V 19.2 A
we are working with field weakening for 1200 rpm. Can i increase a speed from 1200 to 1800 rpm with more field weakening? |

Hello Engin77
This is a designing issue. Your motor has designed for maximum 1200rpm. It means, its frame, armature & bearings were designed/selected for that speed. Increasing the speed upto 1800rpm can result some damages in motor. Moreover, when you would weak the field, armature current would also be increased which may damage the armature drive. -------------------- "Don't assume any thing, always check/ask and clear yourself".
