Dear All

We have an application where we have to run a 380V, 50Hz, 1.5Kw, 4poles geared motor (20rpm) on 100Hz. This motor works for a short moment; 25sec working time and 25minutes rest time. What would be any disadvantages for that usage? Any care should i taken for a preventive action as we are runing 10 motors in same pattern.

Hello AB2005

My concerns would be 1] can the motor and gearbox operate at that speed without problems and 2] as the motor output is limited at 100 Hz, will there be sufficient torque available for the load.

Best regards,

(1) Motor and gear box is working without any problem
(2) yes but ramp up

Dear AB2005,
I would recommend to check the lubrication, on some gearboxes at double speed the standard lubrication is not enough effective. Usually in sich cases I recommend an american additive, as super-lubricant.

Regards
Mario
