Has anyone had experience using dc injection from a VFD to motor as a anti-condensation method?
Customer has aprox 50 motors with VFD existing. Motors are in high moisture area. They can't / don't want to have heaters installed in motors. Any experience / formulas or methods greatly appreciated.

I have an OEM customer that wants to open / close a proportional valve based directly from a liquid level in a tank. We are proposing an ultra sonic level transmitter giving 4-20 into a PLC or converter card with direct PWM 600ma proportional output to valve. Their question is if ultrasonic is most precise type for this app. Any input from existing apps greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have another issue that just came up. Can anyone supply the exact color code presented in IEC 584. This is for a similar panel that is going to Egypt. There are some 4-20ma two wire signals and some 24VDC two wire lines to solenoids. We used red for positive and black for negative. This is allready done and now their engineers have come back asking for white for positive and black for negative. Does IEC 584 require this?

I noticed several members waving Austrailian flags. Hope you can help with this. We build control panels. We have one for a Darwin project that specifies nothing other than wiring to meet Australian specs (it gives specific references but I do not have them with me here now).
We have a low voltage (24VDC) panel (contains power supply, relays, micro-plc,etc) that we would wire with #14 THHN awg wire (fused input at 15 amps). In particular we allready have a panel wired with #14 XHHW-2, is this wire acceptable per Ausie specs? I hope it is. If so can you provide code reference / table that confirms this? I really need to be able to keep this wire or we will have to rewire apnel. Thanks in advance for any help. |
