Hello
We have been having increasing down time on this forum and our sister site LMPhotonics.com recently due to a high level of traffic through these sites. To overcome these issues, we are migrating to a dedicated server (at great expense). I hope that all will go well, but there may be some teething problems on the way. If you have difficulties accessing the site in the next few days, please accept my apologies and come back later. We will endeavour to make the transition as transparent as possible. Best regards, Mark Empson 15/1/2010 Owner LMPForum.com

The system menu is accessed by pressing the up and down arrows together.
The down and up arrows can then be used to scroll down and up the system menu. Any menu item can be selected with the Enter key. System Register %SR3 points to the system menu screen that is open and is zero when the system menu is not in use. The system menu can be disabled from the PLC program by ensuring that the %SR3 register is never non zero. An enable flag can be used to enable and disable the system register by adding a contact in series with the move 0 to %SR3 instruction. Individual system screens can be disabled by the same technique. For example, to defeat the removable media screen, test %SR3 for 14. If %SR3 = 14, then set %SR3 = 1. To defeat the clone screen, - If %SR3 = 20, set %SR3 = 1.

Network Connection.
To use the Smart Stix I/O modules on the XLE and XLT processors, connection is made to the CSCan bus connector. Each module must have a unique address. This is set on the rotary switches on the top of each unit. The connection must be daisy chained using screened CanBus cable. The two end units on the network must be fitted with terminating resistors. These resistors are provided with the controller. Processor Setup. -CSCape 8 series. Under the controller menu, open I/O Configure and click on Network I/O, then add the Smart Stix devices, ensuring that the addres matches the address of the module. For digital I/O you need to specify an internal register in the PLC for the external I/O to map to. (i.e. %R100) There is also the provision to set the default output status. For analog I/O, the internal registers need to be defined as with the digital I/O, and the analogue mode can be set up. -CSCape 9 series. Under the controller menu, open Hardware Configuration and click on Network I/O, then add the Smart Stix devices, ensuring that the addres matches the address of the module. For digital I/O you need to specify an internal register in the PLC for the external I/O to map to. (i.e. %R100) There is also the provision to set the default output status. For analog I/O, the internal registers need to be defined as with the digital I/O, and the analogue mode can be set up. There is no ladder programming required. Best regards, Mark.

Hi
There are a number of questions that keep recurring about the use of power factor correction as a means to reduce the domestic power bill. For information, read Domestic Power Factor Correction Best regards, Mark. |
