AB2005
Dear All, We have finished a new installation of a corrugator machine which is now in production. This machine has a rotary “Direct Cut-off Unit” which cuts the sheets in to desired length. This unit has two AC motors for two knife cylinders which are controlled by two ABB “Variable Speed AC Spindle Drive”. Any time, in the morning, when we power up the units, these drives go into fault. When we reset the drives one to five times, the fault removes. I have talked with manufacturer of machine “Agnati Italy” they answered that these drives have some problem in manufacturing and we recommend changing these drives with “Kalmorgan” drives. But they have also recommended changing the motors too. They said “The old motors are Variable Speed Induction Motors and we recommend changing with Brushless Motors”. This is the base of my query. My question is what is the difference between these two motors? "Don't assume any thing, always check/ask and clear yourself".
