Broken Bars In The Rotor Of Induction

Dear sir

many times vibration and motor current signture analysis survey performed for the motors at our site and the report clear the motor has broken and /or cracks in the rotor but after dismantle the motor and pullout the rotor found the rotor doesn't suffering from any kind of broken bar or cracks at ambient temp.

your kind support to advise me how can detect these cracks and beoken bars at workshop?

Hello osama

 

A common place for the bars to crack, is at the ends where the shorting ring is attached.

It is not always obvious that there is a crack as the crack is often buried in the weld.
