wolf
hi I read that somewhere in US there's 600v 6phase is it true? how is 6phase generated? using a 6ph alternator o what else?
marke
Hello wolf Welcome to the forum. I am not aware of any 6 phase reticulation systems, however it is very easy to create six phases from three phases. This can achieved by using phase shifting transformers. If you have a three phase transformer with dual secondaries, with one secondary configured in star, and the other configured in delta, you will get six phases. The voltage from the delta connected secondary will be phase shifted by 60 degrees relative to the voltage from the star connected secondary. This technique is used on 12 pulse input VFDs.
