Wound Rotor Dc Braking

Recommended Posts

I have read a couple topics on this forum regarding DC injection braking and there are certainly some knowledgeable people that I would like to learn a little more from:

I have an application where I would like to use DC injection braking on an AC wound rotor induction motor. Ideally, I would like to know how to relate the rotor current to the DC stator current, rotor RPM and rotor resistance during deceleration.

Also, is it safe to say that each rotor resistor would be brought in at the same slip that it was dropped out during acceleration?

Thanks for any discussion on the topic,
