Replacement Power - Effects On Capacitor Banks

Dear All,

 

I have a situation in which our Motor Control Centre will be feed by two differents source. One is from the Utility Company and the other is an Emergency Genset. The mains incomers from the two source are Electrically and mechanically interlock. The power factor is to be corrected using a 6 steps - 300kVAR Capacitor Bank. My concerns are:

 

1. Is it required that the Capacitor Bank must be disabled when the supply is coming from the Genset

2. What is the consideration if to be done in this case

3. What is the effect of Genset with the Capacitor Banks
