Difference Between Current Fed And Voltage Fed 3 Phase Asm

well im totally new in here and i hope someone would give me a hand.

 

whats the difference between these 2 types of ASM? im trying to simulate a 3 phase ASM in FOC(field oriented control).

 

in logic diagrams sometimes they refer to the signals as current signals and sometimes they switch to voltage signals, for example u have Isd as input to a PI controller and as output i get Vsd, is there any difference? is it allowed?
