marke
Hello Daniel 1. You must never connect any form of capacitor on the output of a VSD or soft starter without the manufacturers approval.2. The power factor seen by the supply when using a VSD with a motor, is that of the VSD, the power factor of the motor is irrelevant due to the DC link.3. The power factor of a VSD varies, but is less than 1 due to the presence of harmonics, rather than inductive current. To improve the power factor of a VSD, you need to use a filter in series with the input. This can range from a simple line reactor to a comples filter assembly, depending on the specifications required. - talk to the VSD manufacturer.
