I mean, is there a particular sizing formula as per IEC standard and another formula as per IEEE standard. cable sizing formula conforming to which Industry is used widely? Thanks!! AB2005 Posted June 14, 2010 Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 Hi, There is no specific formula for sizing the cable, it depends upon some factors which must be taken in to account during cable sizing such as, 1. Route length. 2. Environmental temperature. 3. Lay in air or buried. 4. Grouping factor. 5. Safety/ageing factor. 6. Peak starting current of load and duration.
