jOmega
hi , i am new there , i want to make a low cost digital power factor meter ,plz help me out Hello Kashif, you will find that if you ask a "specific" question, that you are more likely to receive a reply from the Forum members. To advise you on "how" to design and make anything.... such as a "low cost digital power factor meter" or a PMSM type motor..... is beyond the scope of this Forum and you will find that you do not receive any replies. It is also necessary that you have a Fundamental Knowledge of what power factor is, of how to measure it using analog instrumentation such as the analog voltage meter, the analog current meter, the analog wattmeter, analog power factor meter, etc. and from that knowledge, you will be prepared to learn how the digital versions of those meters are designed. With that knowledge, you will then be better prepared to attempt the design of a low cost digital power factor meter. You may also use a search engine, such as Google, to find information helpful to you. Good luck with your project. jΩ

Hello Kashif: I have spent this day doing some research on the internet for you. Below are links to reference material that I think will be helpful to you. Good luck with your project. -------------------------------------------------------- PowerBox: The Safe AC Power Meter http://courses.cit.cornell.edu/ee476/Final...xg37/index.html Power Box C# Source Code Zip file http://courses.cit.cornell.edu/ee476/Final...xg37/Source.zip Active power meter data sheet and Application Note, Data Sheet, Circuit, PDF, Pinout | Datasheet Archive http://www.datasheetarchive.com/active%20p...-datasheet.html AVR465: Single-Phase Power/Energy Meter with Tamper Detection http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod_do...nts/doc2566.pdf While the above references may not be exact for your project, I think that some of the information they provide will be helpful to you. jΩ
