non reversing motor starters

Can anyone tell me what applications are non reversing motor starters used in. Why couldn't you use a reversing motor starter? I know what a motor starter is. I'm not familiar with the other guy.

A reversing motor starter is the same as a non reversing starter except that there is additional means for reversing the phase sequence applie to the induction motor. This increases the cost of the starter and would therefore only be applied when there is a requirement for the motor to be able to operate both forward and in reverse.

Non-reversing motor starters may also comprise a phase sequence protection relay to inhibit reverse operation resulting from a change in the rotation of the incoming supply.
